How to have handheld items in sims 2?

I know that there is an accessory cheat available (under "spawn") using "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" but when i use it, I can't pick it up... help.... the particular item I want is, when I downloaded a sim from the official website, it was holding a "keyblade" from the kingdom hearts series, but when I go into the game, it's not there... how can I fix this?
