My 10 mth old refuses solids. Her Dr. told us to force it but she only screams. She drinks organic formula.?

We have tried nearly everything, but she screams, clamps her mouth shut and pushes us away. Sometimes she will eat a few crackers. We tried cutting back formula, but it only makes her crabby and she sleeps badly. Is this normal? She is at the high end of the range for her height and weight so she is thriving. We tried to feed for 6 weeks when she was born, but she was failing to thrive and losing weight. Never could latch correctly or make enough milk so had to give it up, even with the help of supposed "professionals."
