Who's the better film maker? Steven Spielberg or Stanley Kubrick?

For me it has to be Kubrick. I like Spielberg and respect his work (Jaws, Schindler's list and Munich being my faves) but I hated War of the worlds. Kubrick would never have given a film such a cheesy ending or filled a film with so many plot holes.
